Why Book a Newborn Photoshoot Early – be an Early Bird

Four reasons to book your newborn photoshoot before your baby is born

There are many reasons why it is a good idea to book your newborn photoshoot before your baby is born.

In fact, if you’re considering booking a newborn photoshoot, I’d urge you to do your research and then book as soon as possible. And yes, that means during your pregnancy. If possible, book at least three months before your due date!

Booking early is something that so many parents-to-be don’t think to do. But then, later, they wished they had.

I’ve seen it so many times before.

Their baby is born and only then do they approach their preferred newborn photographer, only to be turned away because he or she doesn’t have any free spaces in their diary within the first three weeks after the baby is born.

Arghh! Don’t let that happen to you!

Book your newborn photoshoot before your baby is born, otherwise, you run the risk of missing out on the chance to get the gorgeous sleeping-baby photos that you want!

These pictures can only be created within the first three weeks of your baby’s life, so there is such a small window of time in which to get them done!

But why do I need to book my newborn photoshoot before my baby is born?

  1. Limited availability

High-quality newborn photography is in great demand. And that popularity isn’t set to wane any time soon! Many parents-to-be love the idea of having professional portraits taken of their new baby, and so seek out the best local photographers to hire.

Experienced and highly regarded newborn photographers are likely to have many advance bookings already confirmed; many off the back of recommendations from their previous customers. Their schedules will be very busy.

And since newborn sessions can take anything from 2-4 hours each, most photographers book out an entire day just for one newborn photoshoot. Which means that within a certain week or fortnight, there will only be a limited number of slots available – reduced even more so, if the photographer works part-time.

  1. Peace of mind

The second benefit of booking early is that once you have agreed a date and time, and you have paid your session fee, you can rest up knowing that that slot is officially yours!

You’ll have banished the ‘will she be able to fit us in?’ panic that is likely to set in if you leave it too late. You’ll have the peace of mind and the satisfaction of knowing that your newborn photoshoot is all sorted and that you have a confirmed date in your photographer’s diary.

Whenever baby decides to make an appearance, you are expected & will be able to choose from convenient appointment times.

  1. Another thing off your to-do list

There is also much to be said for the satisfying act of ticking things off a to-do list. And certainly, when you’re pregnant, there won’t be a shortage of things to do!

Whether you’re a first-time mum-to-be or have children already, managing everything – work, life, kids, husbands (!), the home – it can all get on top of you when you’re pregnant.

You have enough on your plate to manage, so why delay on getting the newborn photographer booked?

A decision made now about which newborn photographer to hire will be one less thing for you to worry about as your due date approaches.  Why not grab one of our beautiful free Hospital Packing checklists too. GET YOURS HERE
